In 2014, over 700 people participated in Roc the Peace, an annual festival that promotes nonviolence and rallies against homicide. Roc the Peace was organized by Mrs Sirena Cotton after her 16 year old son, Christopher Jones, was gunned down outside his home on November 17, 2000. Initially named “Peace for Chris Fest,” the annual festival has since been renamed to honor all victims of violence and to rally against homicide.
